A year ago today we were going through the craziness of a wedding ceremony. I remember how surreal it was when they did the "pronounce you man and wife" part, thinking that it seemed too easy! After all that work getting things ready, putting invitations together, finding realistic fake flowers, making sure everyone who needed hotel rooms had one, all of that, it took just a few words and we were married! Amazing. Especially considering that Craig had asked me to marry him even before we started dating...that's a story for another post, however :). But it was so good to see friends that had moved away, family and colleagues come together and celebrate with us.
And then the day was over and our real, new life started. Wow! Moving here to Tallahassee, finding a job, learning to live together, being away from family for the first time, finding another job, finding friends (hooray for our amazing friends!), becoming responsible. It's been amazing to watch God bless us as we do what He's given us to do here. And even though Craig felt like he had to drag me here, I can admit that it's been good for us. And I can also admit that it'll be hard to leave someday. We've really made some wonderful friendships and are planted in the middle of God's work right now, and we have definitely seen the blessings that come from both of those.
So I think that I've reminisced enough for one post! :) But let me end up with a list, a la Lisa, my soon to be sister (since she's marrying this guy), summing it all up (even though Thanksgiving is still a ways off)
Things I'm thankful for:
1. my awesome husband who is too good to me
2. cars getting fixed for free
3. worshipping together with other churches
4. sweet morning hugs from my kiddos
5. a good book
6. fall in Florida actually feeling like fall should
7. squirrels on my roof
8. my Mac
9. sweet tea in abundance (aka I live in the South now :)
10. last but never least, the love of God that sustains me and allows me to live as one of His children!
